Not only does cattle farming degrate the enviornment, but the cows as well.
Due to the increased demand for meat, the quality of life for cows has exponentially decreased. Cows who are subjected to live in factory farms are treated as pieces of meat before they are even slaughtered.
Without any sense of humanity workers often brand and dismember the animals. Aside from direct physical trauma the animals are typically forced to endure the elements without shelter in tight quarters with an immense number of other cows. Due to the lack of space, cows are forced to stand and sleep in their own feces.
"Nevertheless, current FDA regulations allow dead pigs and dead horses to be rendered into cattle feed, along with dead poultry. The regulations not only allow cattle to be fed dead poultry, they allow poultry to be fed dead cattle."
